Abstract Screening
Creating an Abstract Screening Session
A project can have multiple abstract screening sessions (e.g., one per research question). Create one from Abstract Screening → New Session.
Configuration Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Label for this screening session |
| Screening type | Single-blind, double-blind, or perpetual |
| Yes / No / Maybe | Enable or disable each label. If Maybe is disabled, reviewers must choose Yes or No. |
| Require tags | Screeners must select at least one tag before submitting |
| Require reasons | Screeners must select at least one reason before submitting |
| Require notes | Screeners must enter a free-text note before submitting |
| Require form completion | Screeners must complete an attached screening form before submitting |
Assigning Screeners
- After creating the session, open it and go to the Screeners tab.
- Add project members who should screen in this session.
- For double-blind sessions, you can optionally restrict assignment so each citation is only shown to a specific pair of screeners.
Tags and Reasons
Tags and reasons help categorize screening decisions, especially for exclusions.
- Tags are free labels you define at the project level (e.g., "Wrong population", "Not an RCT").
- Reasons are similar and are configured per project.
You can require screeners to provide these before submitting a decision.
Exporting Screening Data
From the session, click Export Screening Data to download a CSV with all decisions, labels, screener names, tags, reasons, and notes.
