Comparison Tool
The Comparison Tool provides a matrix view of how different studies compare across arms and outcomes. Access it from the project's Extractions section → Comparison Tool.
Setting Up Comparisons
From within an extraction's Type3 result section:
- Click Add Comparison.
- Select the study arms involved (e.g., "Drug A" vs. "Placebo").
- Select the outcome (e.g., "Pain score reduction at 6 weeks").
- For each measure (e.g., Mean Difference, 95% CI lower, 95% CI upper, p-value):
- Enter the numerical value.
- Check ANOVA if the comparison involves more than two groups.
- Repeat for each comparison reported in the paper.
Viewing the Comparison Matrix
The Comparison Tool renders a matrix with:
- Rows — Studies (extractions)
- Columns — Outcomes and measures
- Cells — The extracted values
This makes it easy to see at a glance which studies report which outcomes and spot missing data.
Managing Measures
From the results section, you can:
- Add new measure types to a comparison.
- Remove measures that are not applicable.
- Edit existing values.
Click Manage Measures to add or remove measure types globally for the project.
