Comparison Tool

The Comparison Tool provides a matrix view of how different studies compare across arms and outcomes. Access it from the project's Extractions section → Comparison Tool.

Setting Up Comparisons

From within an extraction's Type3 result section:

  1. Click Add Comparison.
  2. Select the study arms involved (e.g., "Drug A" vs. "Placebo").
  3. Select the outcome (e.g., "Pain score reduction at 6 weeks").
  4. For each measure (e.g., Mean Difference, 95% CI lower, 95% CI upper, p-value):
    • Enter the numerical value.
  5. Check ANOVA if the comparison involves more than two groups.
  6. Repeat for each comparison reported in the paper.

Viewing the Comparison Matrix

The Comparison Tool renders a matrix with:

  • Rows — Studies (extractions)
  • Columns — Outcomes and measures
  • Cells — The extracted values

This makes it easy to see at a glance which studies report which outcomes and spot missing data.

Managing Measures

From the results section, you can:

  • Add new measure types to a comparison.
  • Remove measures that are not applicable.
  • Edit existing values.

Click Manage Measures to add or remove measure types globally for the project.
