Completing an Extraction
When you are assigned an extraction, it appears in the Extractions list. Open it to access the extraction work view.
Opening Your Extraction
- Go to Extractions in the project sidebar.
- Find your assigned extraction (filter by "My Extractions" if the list is long).
- Click Work to open the data entry view.
Extraction Work View
The extraction work view has two areas:
- Left sidebar — Lists all sections of the extraction form. Click a section name to jump to it.
- Main area — Shows the fields for the current section.
The citation's title, authors, abstract, and links to external sources (PubMed, DOI) are shown at the top so you can reference the paper while extracting.
Filling In Data
Navigate through sections using the sidebar. Fill in each field according to your inclusion criteria and instructions.
Autosave: VADRR saves your progress automatically as you type and move between fields. You do not need to click a Save button.
Required fields: If a question is marked required, you must fill it in before the section can be marked complete.
Type1 Tables
In Type1 table sections:
- Add a row for each entity in the study (e.g., one row per study arm).
- Fill in each cell with the corresponding value.
- Add or remove rows as needed.
Type3 Statistical Results
In Type3 result sections:
- Click Add Comparison to create a comparison (e.g., Treatment A vs. Control).
- Select the arms involved in the comparison.
- Select the outcome.
- Enter values for each measure (e.g., relative risk = 0.82, p = 0.04).
Saving and Returning
You can leave the extraction at any time and return to it. Your progress is saved automatically. The extraction status updates to In Progress once you start filling in data.
