Resolving Extraction Conflicts

Opening the Consolidation View

  1. Go to Extractions in the project sidebar.
  2. Find a study with multiple completed extractions (status: Awaiting Review or Approved).
  3. Click Consolidate (available to Consolidators and Leaders).

The consolidation interface opens with all reviewers' extractions displayed side by side.

Interface Layout

  • Left sidebar — Lists all sections of the extraction form.
  • Main area — For the selected section, shows each reviewer's answers in separate columns.
  • Consolidated column — A column where you select or type the final agreed-upon answer.

Choosing Values

For each field in each section:

  1. Review the answers from each reviewer.
  2. Click the answer you want to adopt as the consolidated value (it fills into the consolidated column), or type a new value if neither reviewer's answer is fully correct.
  3. Move to the next field.

Your selections are saved automatically.

Marking a Section Complete

Once all fields in a section are resolved, click Mark Section Complete (or the equivalent toggle). This collapses the section in the sidebar to show progress.

Approving the Consolidated Extraction

When all sections are complete:

  1. Click Approve on the consolidated extraction.
  2. The extraction status changes to Approved.
  3. The consolidated record is now the authoritative version for this study.
tip

Approved consolidated extractions are used for all downstream analysis, including comparison tools and FHIR exports. Individual reviewer extractions remain accessible for audit purposes.
